As part of the Faculty of Economics' Days, the Faculty of Economics at Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar held Economics Student Day on 6 October 2026. The event focused on student engagement, professional development opportunities, and cooperation between the Faculty and the business sector.
Prof. Dr. Goran Curic, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, opened the programme by discussing students' role in the Faculty’s development and the importance of cooperation with business partners. Amar Obradovic, President of the Student Union, also addressed the attendees and highlighted the importance of student engagement and participation in academic life.
The programme continued with presentations by the Faculty’s business partners, Sparkasse Bank and ProCredit Bank. Representatives of Sparkasse Bank discussed employment opportunities, career development, and prospects for young people in the banking sector. Representatives of ProCredit Bank introduced their initiative to establish a new student space at the Faculty, called the ProYoung Zone, and outlined the next steps in strengthening cooperation with the Faculty of Economics.
Senior Teaching Assistants Sara Kljajic and Lejla Skaljic then took part in a discussion entitled ‘What Is It Like to Study at EFMO: Advantages, Perspectives, and Challenges’. They shared their experiences as students and compared them with their current experiences working in academia. The discussion covered the challenges of studying, the development of academic and professional competencies, and changes in the roles of students and academic staff. Through a series of quick-fire questions, students learned more about their experiences and professional journeys.
At the end of the programme, the organisers presented Senior Teaching Assistants Sara Kljajic and Lejla Skaljic with tokens of appreciation for their participation. The event then continued with refreshments and informal networking.
The event also featured the unveiling of a display stand bearing the logos of the Faculty of Economics, the Business Informatics Study Programme, and the Tourism Studies Programme. The stand will help promote the Faculty and its study programmes.
ProCredit Bank and Sparkasse Bank supported Economics Student Day, while the Student Union collaborated with the Faculty in organising the event.
