On May 15, 2026, Dr. Amir Softic, President of the Management Board of Sparkasse Bank, visited the Faculty of Economics at the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar together with his colleagues and delivered a lecture on the impact of credit and ESG risks on economic growth and development.
During his presentation on ESG transition, the green economy, and regulatory frameworks for sustainable development, Dr. Softic explained how climate risks directly affect the financial sector, credit policies, and the operations of modern companies through various economic transmission mechanisms. The lecture enabled students to gain valuable insights into these contemporary challenges and opportunities.
Speaking about the future of the banking sector, he emphasized that Sparkasse Bank builds its business strategy not only on lending activities but also on developing long-term partnerships with clients and potential investors through financial literacy initiatives, enhanced digital services, and continuous educational programmes.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Dr. Goran Curic, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar, thanked the guests for their visit and underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between academia and the banking sector.
