The Faculty of Law of the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar, in cooperation with the Student Association of the Faculty of Law, organized a lecture titled Protection of Women’s Rights – Human Rights and Criminal Law Aspects on 9 March 2026, marking International Women’s Day.
Prof. Dr. Rebeka Kotlo and Prof. Dr. Suncica Hajdarovic delivered the lecture and highlighted the importance of protecting women’s rights in contemporary society. In their presentations, they focused on international human rights standards and criminal law mechanisms that support the protection of women.
During the lecture, the speakers presented key elements of the legal framework for protecting women from violence. They also discussed the role of legislation in preventing and sanctioning various forms of violence against women, as well as the challenges that arise in practice when ensuring the effective protection and realization of these rights.
