Conversation with the University Rector Marking International Women’s Day

The University marked International Women’s Day by hosting a conversation with Rector Prof. Dr. Alena Huseinbegovic on 12 March 2026 at the University Library. The discussion highlighted her professional path and experience in the academic community.

During the meeting, the Rector presented her educational and professional development at the University, culminating in her appointment as Rector. She also discussed overcoming challenges in her academic career and emphasized the importance of continuous education, work, and dedication.

In her address to students, she emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, setting goals, and capitalizing on the opportunities available during their studies.

As part of the International Women’s Day programme, the University organized an exhibition of doctoral dissertations written by female PhD graduates who defended their theses at the University between 1997 and 2025. During this period, 270 candidates earned doctoral degrees, including 100 women. In addition, the University promoted its 100th female Doctor of Science this year.
