Ceremonial Promotion of New Doctors of Science

Yesterday, 12 February, the Faculty of Humanities hosted a ceremonial promotion of new Doctors of Science as part of the 49th anniversary celebration of Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar.

At the opening of the ceremony, Vice-Rector for Science and Research Amela Piralic and Adnan Velagic, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, addressed the audience. Mentors then presented the candidates’ biographies, previously earned qualifications, dissertation defense reports, and their scientific and research contributions.

Rector Alena Huseinbegovic formally promoted six candidates to the title of Doctor of Science.

The University awarded the title of Doctor of Science to:

  • Mile Galic – Social sciences (kinesiology, field: sports and recreation kinesiology), doctoral study in kinesiology at the Faculty of Education.
  • Goran Skondric – Technical sciences (computer science and informatics, field: information systems and technologies), doctoral study at the Polytechnic.
  • Dzafer Alic – Social sciences (kinesiology, field: sports and recreation kinesiology), doctoral study in kinesiology at the Faculty of Education.
  • Faris Tresnjo – Technical sciences (civil engineering, field: structural engineering), doctoral study at the Polytechnic.
  • Edin Semic – Technical sciences (technical mechanics and robotics), doctoral study at the Polytechnic.
  • Elmida Burina – Social sciences (law, field: European law), doctoral study in European law at the Faculty of Law.

The ceremony concluded with a group photo session and informal gathering, rounding off another event marking the University’s anniversary.
