Final Conference of the ERASMUS+ Project SMARTWB

The Faculty of Civil Engineering hosted the final conference of the Erasmus+ project SmartWB on November 6 and 7, 2025. The project team organized the event within the work package that disseminated results and presented achieved goals. The conference gathered representatives of partner universities and organizations from the European Union and the Western Balkans.

The SmartWB project aimed to enhance the quality of higher education in climate-smart urban development, modernize curricula, and strengthen teaching staff competencies in line with European standards. The partners placed special emphasis on developing a technological platform for cooperation, enabling knowledge and experience exchange with the business sector, and strengthening connections between universities, industry, and civil society organizations.

During the first day, participants attended presentations by experts in sustainable water management, green technologies, and modern urban planning methodologies. Afterward, project teams presented their results.

On the second day, participants exchanged experiences within the framework of the ERASMUS+ CBHE 2025 call, held project board meetings, evaluated project outcomes, and planned guidelines for potential future cooperation initiatives. They concluded the conference with a joint reflection on project achievements and a tour around Mostar as the final activity.

The conference confirmed that the SmartWB project achieved its planned goals successfully and strengthened the university’s position in regional and international academic cooperation on sustainable urban development.
