Last week, fourth-year students from the Department of English Language and Literature conducted the first cycle of educational workshops at Zemzem Kindergarten in Mostar. This event demonstrates another example of collaboration between the academic community and local community that strive to contribute to the community through education.
Zemzem Kindergarten promotes community-oriented student practice. This partnership enables students to gain experience while simultaneously enhancing the skills and knowledge of young children.
During this cycle, students conducted four creative English language workshops for preschool children. They organized these workshops as part of the Methodical Practice course, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Edina Spago-Cumurija and assistant Amina Habibovic. Through interactive games, songs, and educational activities, the youngest participants had the opportunity to learn the basics of the English language in a fun and approachable way.
This form of practical teaching allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in a real environment while developing pedagogical skills. At the same time, children enjoyed dynamic and educational content, which once again confirmed the importance of this type of collaboration.
