Agreement Signed Between Džemal Bijedić University and the Food Safety Agency

Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar and the Food Safety Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed an agreement on scientific and professional cooperation on May 30, 2025, in Mostar. The agreement defines models and methods of collaboration in scientific fields of mutual interest.
Prof. Dr. Alena Huseinbegović, Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Alisa Hadžiabulić, Dean of the Agromediterranean Faculty, and Dr. Sci. Sanin Tanković, Director of the Agency, signed the agreement.

The agreement enables the two institutions to jointly work on scientific research projects, develop and implement professional training, exchange scientific information and publications, organize internships for students of the Agromediterranean Faculty, and collaborate in scientific events, symposia, and conferences.

The partners have already concretized this cooperation through the participation and contribution of the Agromediterranean Faculty to the international conference “Food Safety: Science in Action,” which the Food Safety Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina will organize on June 3 and 4, 2025, to mark World Food Safety Day.
During the conference, the Agromediterranean Faculty's teaching staff will present a study on the dietary habits of high school students. The study aimed to identify eating habits and influencing factors, assess the level of awareness of healthy nutrition, and consider potential health consequences for young people.

The signatories of the agreement identified nutrition, along with food toxicology, water safety, and water quality, as one of many potential fields of mutual interest for scientific and professional cooperation.

During the meeting held to mark the signing of the agreement, participants exchanged information about current projects and plans. They also agreed to organize a guest lecture by representatives of the Food Safety Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar at the beginning of the next academic year.
