The Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar concluded the program of marking its 48th anniversary with a promotion and diploma award ceremony in the North Camp Sports Hall. During the ceremony, the University awarded diplomas to 489 graduates, 363 first cycle and 123 second cycle diplomas. Earlier, the University promoted three PhD.
Addressing the graduates, the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Alena Huseinbegovic, emphasized the importance of education as the foundation for national and cultural identity and as a key factor for personal and societal progress. She explained that investing in education is the most certain path to a better future, creating competent and motivated young individuals capable of responding to labour market challenges and dynamic changes in the business world. Along with congratulating all the graduates, the Rector expressed her belief that they will drive the development of Bosnian society and catalyse positive change.
After her speech, deans and heads of university departments handed out diplomas to the graduates.
In addition to the ceremony, the anniversary celebration featured several other events, including a reception for retired employees, the laying of flowers at the commemorative bust of Dzemal Bijedic and the memorial of Midhad Hujdur Hujka, the promotion of scientific and research projects, and a table tennis tournament. Also, the University Senate held a formal session.
With 48 years of tradition, the University continues its successful educational work and confirms its status as a key institution in education and research activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
