Students Complete 3D Printing Project Competition

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering organized the final round of a student competition in developing projects using 3D printers, with eight student teams participating.

The competition concluded on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, when students presented their 3D models and explained their design and manufacturing processes. The project task combined theoretical knowledge of strength of materials and modeling with the practical production of models using 3D printers.

The modeling and 3D printing process took place from October 27 to December 12, 2025. The project guidelines defined the dimensions and mass of each model in advance. During the development phase, students received professional support from Prof. Dr. Senad Rahimic, Prof. Dr. Safet Isic, Prof. Dr. Medina Manjgo, and teaching assistants Amila Dedic and Merima Cupic.

After the presentations, the mentoring team tested all models. The testing included dimensional checks, weight verification, and load-bearing capacity assessments by monitoring beam deflection under load.

The following teams achieved the best results in the competition:

First place: Asija Fako and Faris Fako

Second place: Hana Isic and Enna Hamzakadic

Third place: Mustafa Puljarga and Edib Abazovic

The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mirna Nožić, awarded certificates to all participants, while the top three teams will also receive monetary prizes.
