On April 10, 2025, the Faculty of Humanities hosted a discussion about the book ‘Violence Against Women: Discourses, Perspectives, Lessons from Bosnian Herzegovinian History’. The organizers brought together experts in history, sociology, and gender studies to spark dialogue on one of the most urgent social issues nowdays.

Panelists Prof. Dr. Fahd Kasumovic, Prof. Dr. Almir Marić, Prof. Dr. Amila Kasumovic, and Prof. Dr. Ajla Demiragic explored how patriarchal societies shape, justify, and perpetuate violence against women. Moderator Prof. Dr. Amir Duranovic steered the discussion through the key themes in the book: women’s roles in historical and modern contexts, their right to public space, and how scholars and society confront gender-based violence.

Audience members engaged and responded with intense interest, showing how essential these events are for uniting academics, students, and the public in the fight against violence toward women.
