Tech-Business Connection Lecture

Today, on May 8, 2024, in the premises of the Faculty of Economics, second-year students had the opportunity to attend a lecture by visiting lecturer, Prof. Dr. Mircea Georgescu, who comes from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Iasi. During his two-hour presentation, the visiting lecturer attempted to illustrate the connection between business and technology to our students. The link between business and technology is inseparable, and technological advancement enables more efficient communication, data analysis, process automation, and the provision of personalized services. The lecture focused on the theme of technology development, presenting the differences between current forms of technology and those of the past. The lecturer acquainted the students with both the positive and negative aspects of technological progress and the proper ways to utilize all the opportunities that today's technology offers. Through interesting examples, the impact of technology on people and their environment was demonstrated, along with advice and attention drawn to things to avoid when using technology to prevent negative consequences. The visiting professor was warmly welcomed by the acting dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ćurić, who, prior to the guest lecture, held a meeting with Prof. Mircea Georgescu to discuss possibilities for strengthening collaboration between the Faculty of Economics at the Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar and the Faculty of Economics at the University of Iasi
