The tradition of the ‘Sunny Sports Games’ continues

In the spirit of inclusion, with friends from ‘Vedri osmijeh’, ‘Naša djece’ and children from ‘Los Rosales’, pupils from partner schools, the beneficiaries of the Association ‘Sunce’ had fun by actively taking part in games prepared by professors and students of the Department of Sports and Health of the Faculty of Education of the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar on the 13th of December of 2024.

“Sunny Sports Games” result from cooperation between the Faculty of Education and the Association ‘Sunce’ Mostar. The cooperation has been going on for four years and the number of student volunteers in the organization and implementation of the “Sunny Sports Games” has been increasing yearly. This year, 40 students from the Department of Sports and Health, Special Pedagogy, Preschool Education, and Classroom Teaching participated in the organization and implementation of the games. In this way, we try to emphasize social responsibility and connect the educational and inclusive sector in educating students for future professions through theoretical and practical teaching in working with people with special needs.

The games were content adjusted to all participants.  The emphasis was on the cooperative segment of the selected games and the principle of inclusiveness, bearing in mind that the participants were both high school students and beneficiaries of the associations for people with special needs, and they were of different ages. The games were held at nine locations. Every game had different theme and adaptive actions that activate sensorimotor reactions.
