Compensation for Victims of Gender-Based Violence

Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar, in cooperation with the TPO Foundation, is organizing a series of lectures, workshops, and discussions through the UNIGEM project as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, running from the 26th of November to the 10th of December, 2024. These activities educate academic and administrative staff, as well as students, on gender equality and the prevention of gender-based violence.

Prof. Dr. Alena Huseinbegovic, Rector of the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar, delivered a lecture titled Compensation for Victims of Gender-Based Violence. She conducted the lecture on D, 2024 (Tuesday) at 11:00 AM, at the Faculty of Law of the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar. The lecture enhanced knowledge about sanctioning gender-based violence and its perpetrators, as well as legal procedures and mechanisms for protecting victims' rights to claim compensation.

The Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar and the Transcultural Psychosocial Educational Foundation (TPO) implement the project Introducing Gender-Sensitive Policies in Higher Education (University and Gender Mainstreaming - UNIGEM) under a signed Memorandum of Cooperation, with the support of the UK Government. The project actively prevents and combats gender-based violence, discrimination, and sexual harassment while ensuring integrity and quality in higher education.

The Transcultural Psychosocial Educational Foundation (TPO), in partnership with 19 universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro, including the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar, carries out the UNIGEM project. Universities strategically commit to integrating gender perspectives, ensuring gender equality, and creating a safe environment for academic and administrative staff, as well as students, across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
