Workshop on cherries
Students and professors from the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar took active participation in the workshop on cherries at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology of the University of Mostar on 09.03.2023.
Professor Lynn Long and Marlene Long held the workshop. Professor Long has been engaged in cherry selection, selection of rootstocks, and growing forms for many years. He contributed to the spread of dwarf rootstocks and new cherry cultivars in commercial orchards in the USA. He has been leading in breeding and selection procedures since 1996 and is an adviser. Prof. Marlene Long is engaged in the quality of the post- harvest fruits.
Workshop was divided into two parts, the practical part, and the theory. The lectures were held at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Technology of the University of Mostar, and a demonstration of pruning in a cherry orchard at Jaffa Komerc LLC. Mostar.
