The 46th anniversary of the Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar

The marking of the 46th anniversary of the existence and work of the Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar started officially today with the laying of flowers at the memorial statue of Džemal Bijedić in front of the Rectorate and the projection of a film about his character and work. With these two events, University started the traditional manifestation of the Days of the University.

These are significant activities through which we commemorate the character and work of Džemal Bijedić, whose name we took 46 years ago and still proudly carry. We are developing the university and educating young people who will be the drivers of the development of Bosnian society, just as Džemal Bijedić was. The university has always been a symbol of freedom, tolerance, and love for the homeland, and we are proud of the name we carry, said the rector of the Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar, prof. dr. Alena Huseinbegović.

The week-long programme will continue on Tuesday with the solemn session of the University Senate. On Wednesday, the University library is organizing the promotion of the University publications, masterclass: the road to excellence with prof Damir Đedović, Alena Ćemalovic, and Lana Pudar as special guest. The Wednesday programme will end with a chess tournament. The promotion of scientific and research projects and international projects is scheduled for Thursday while the ceremonial promotion of Doctor of Science is scheduled for Friday.

The programme of the Days of the University will end on Saturday with the ceremonial promotion and awarding of diplomas.
