International Day of Persons with Disabilities

On December 1, 2023, the 3rd Sunlit Sports Games took place at the USRC "Mithad Hujdur Hujka" indoor facility in honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The Department of Sport and Health at the Faculty of Education, "Džemal Bijedić" University of Mostar, played a key role in this project, coordinating sports games actively involving associations of persons with disabilities, as well as students from high schools and elementary schools.

In partnership with the Department of Sport and Health, the organization "Sunce" Mostar, as the primary organizer, has been promoting the active and regular involvement of persons with disabilities in physical exercise. Societal development relies on an inclusive approach, social responsibility, and joint activities.

Members of associations, students from the Department of Sport and Health, and students from high schools and elementary schools collectively marked this important day, emphasizing the need for increased efforts to promote the importance of physical exercise for persons with disabilities.

The understanding of the people around us, small gestures of kindness, and an open heart make a significant difference in all our lives, especially in the lives of individuals who encounter various life and health challenges on a daily basis!
