University Esport League

Students - gamers from Sarajevo, Mostar, and Banja Luka this winter will have the opportunity to compete and represent their faculty in a unique competition according to world trends. Tiltproof, the University of Sarajevo, the University of Banja Luka, and the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar are organizing the second university sports league in the League of Legends game. All faculties from the University of Banja Luka, Sarajevo, and Mostar can participate in the league, and they will create teams of five players themselves. The gaming experience will certainly be crucial to creating teams.

We are pleased that our University, above all our students, have the opportunity to test their skills in popular activities such as sports. We are witnessing the great importance of sports among young people, and we consider it positive that the Universities in BiH have recognized the wishes of students. It is also commendable to encourage cooperation, exchange of knowledge, experiences, and friendships between universities and students throughout BiH. We hope that this experience will encourage a competitive spirit among students, and enable the acquisition of knowledge and new contacts in both the gaming and IT industries, thanks to partners from these industries. We would like to wish good luck to both the participants and the organizers in the hope that this event will be further expanded and become a tradition, "said Amar Šabanović, a representative of the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar.

The University Esport League will host up to 12 faculties, which will compete during November and December, where we will get a new champion. The first title of the UEL league champion was won by the students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering from Banja Luka. The organization of match broadcasts and technical support will be taken over by the company Tiltproof.

The world's largest universities have been hosting esport leagues for years, and I can proudly say that our universities have quickly recognized the potential and interest of our students in this discipline. The University Esport League is a project that puts the focus of public institutions on esports, and that is exactly what this industry needs to further develop in our country, and we will work to make esport competitions a traditional event for our students. The first season was organized at the University of Banja Luka, and in the second season, we have expanded the project to the other two largest universities in the country, the University of Sarajevo and the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar. We will certainly work on bringing this competition closer to the students of other universities in the country in the coming seasons ", said Stefan Đokić, co-founder of the company Tiltproof.

Esport leagues in the world are part of everyday life, and the implementation of esports in official educational and business institutions is largely complete. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tiltproof is taking the first steps towards cooperation with institutions and the recognition of sports at the social level. The University League is not their first or last project that aims to create a positive public opinion about sports and gaming. The University Esport League will be available to follow on Tiltproof Twitch and YouTube channels.
