Therapy Education

On Sunday, November 21, the students of Health Care study programme completed a training in the field of Kinesio Taping and Cupping. The training was held by Mirza Kabil, MSc physiotherapist. In addition to the technique of Taping and Cupping therapy, the third and fourth-year students of Health Care study programme had the opportunity to listen to the practical stories from everyday experience of Mr. Kabil. Students were especially fascinated by the educator's approach, the communication, and the empathy shown.

Cupping therapy is part of alternative medicine, designed to improve range of motion and optimize muscle function. Cupping has a wide application. Experience to date has shown that it helps with: respiratory diseases, rheumatic diseases, back and muscle pain, sports injuries, poor circulation, and varicose veins, and it is also effective in migraines.
Kinesio Taping is a procedure of using special elastic bands that correct muscle function without medication and reduce pain by immobilizing the muscle fascia. K.T. is a therapeutic method that first became popular among athletes whose purpose was the prevention and treatment of sports injuries. This method is used not only for sports injuries but also for the treatment of other injuries, and the same effect is achieved as with Cupping therapy.
