From May 5th to 9th, 2025, I had the opportunity to participate in the International Staff Week 2025 organized by Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania.

This experience provided valuable opportunities to strengthen international cooperation between the Faculty of Economics at the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar and other participating institutions.

Traveling alone as a student allows for cultural exploration, personal growth, and memorable experiences. Proper planning, budgeting, and safety awareness ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey. Engaging with locals and staying connected enhances the adventure while fostering independence.

This experience has not only helped me grow academically but also made me more confident in my ability to meet new people and embrace new situations. Over time, my roommate has become one of my best friends, and I’ve learned so much from this exchange in ways I never imagined.

How can we support mother languages?

1. Encourage language learning – Parents and teachers can inspire children to learn and use their mother language. They can read books, tell stories, and sing songs in their native language.

Why is this day important?

For many years, fewer women than men worked in science. Many people believed that science was only for men.
