Ljetna škola o filmu, društvenim i humanističkim naukama – Zenica 2026

I began my Erasmus training on Monday, 23 February 2026, at the University building with the Erasmus coordinator, Prof. Mirsada Behram, and later with the management of the Agromediterranean Faculty, Dean prof. dr. Alisa Hadžiabulić and Vice-Dean prof. dr.  Hasanbegović Sejfić. We discussed the planned activities during the training, followed by a discussion about current projects at their faculty, study programs, and challenges in faculty management and organization. After the meeting, we agreed on my participation in the “Science Day” event and the preparation of a survey questionnaire for pupils regarding their preferences for natural science subjects. Afterwards, we toured the faculty building, offices, laboratories, the greenhouse, and other facilities.

Tuesday was very intensive in terms of work, as I participated in “Science Day” for primary and secondary school pupils, which has traditionally been organized for many years at the Agromediterranean Faculty. The teachers presented practical exercises of a scientific nature to the pupils in order to encourage them to enroll at this faculty after finishing secondary school. Together with Dean prof. Hadžiabulić, I prepared a survey related to pupils’ interest in natural sciences, which the pupils then completed.

The third working day began with the preparation and delivery of a lecture for graduate students of the Landscape Architecture program titled: “Park dendroflora in the design of parks and green spaces in the Mediterranean.”

Activities on the penultimate day began with a morning meeting with the faculty management in the context of the completed activities and discussions on potential cooperation related to the possible publication of scientific papers in the fields of special floriculture (applied plant nutrition and plant physiology in the faculty’s automated greenhouse) and landscape architecture (arrangement and design of green spaces in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina). Afterwards, together with faculty colleagues, I visited and analyzed the condition of green areas and parks in the newer part of Mostar, particularly Zrinjevac Park, the Park of Spanish Fighters, as well as plane tree avenues, linear greenery, greenery within residential blocks, and similar areas.

On the final day, a summary of the completed activities was made with the faculty management and an agreement was reached to continue and strengthen cooperation with my home institution, especially regarding participation in joint projects and scientific research. Afterwards, I visited and analyzed the condition of green spaces and parks in the old part of Mostar, particularly around religious buildings, residential blocks, and private gardens and courtyards. Photographs taken during the field visits will be used to prepare teaching materials in the field of landscape design. In addition to the professional activities mentioned, the training also provided a very pleasant experience, including socializing with colleagues and visiting cultural and natural landmarks in the city of Mostar.
