I recently had the opportunity to take part in the Interdepartmental Symposium of Management, Organization, and Entrepreneurship “Transforming Work Environments: Pathways to Sustainable Success and Employee Well-being.” The event took place on September 25–26, 2025, at the Faculty of Economics, University of Split, and it was a truly valuable professional and personal. The conference brought together professors, researchers, and young academics from different countries. It was organized in partnership with the Academy of Management (AOM), the world’s leading organization in management, along with several regional management academies. I felt excited to be part of two days filled with networking, exchanging ideas, and inspiring discussions. During the event, I took part in different sessions, workshops, and informal conversations. One of the highlights for me was the chance to talk directly with experts who influence current trends in management and organizational sciences. These talks gave me new perspectives and made me think about how global ideas can be applied in our local context. Another key part of the symposium was the opportunity to explore future research and project collaborations. As a PhD student, I especially appreciated the chance to connect my work with other researchers and receive feedback that will help improve my PhD research. Besides the formal sessions, the informal moments, such as breaks and dinners, were equally important. These were great opportunities to build connections and discuss potential projects. Overall, this symposium demonstrated the importance for young researchers of engaging with the academic community beyond publishing—by exchanging ideas, participating in discussions, and building professional networks. I’m very grateful to the Faculty of Economics, University of Split, for their excellent organization, and to all participants for their openness and willingness to collaborate. This experience has inspired me to keep improving my research skills and to contribute to strengthening the international cooperation of our Faculty and University.
