Mostar Rock School
Eleven program concerts were held in the year of 2022. Over 60 session bands, electronic production ensembles and Off bands presented their work and showcased their musical skills to the public. Klub 27 was crowded at almost all concerts and faithful audience supported and followed young musicians in their musical journey. On two evenings of the last program concert in the jubilee tenth school year, the students of the Rock School created a great atmosphere in the open air, in the beautiful atrium of the Pavarotti Music Center and Klub 27. On the second night, the visitors witnessed a special surprise, which was prepared by the Rock School team. Together with Vocals teacher Monika Josipović, students and soloist Luka Bago performed a Flash mob and sang the song "They Don't Care About Us". They hosted representatives of the Norwegian Embassy in Sarajevo and Swedish Embassy Sarajevo, Ambassador Olav Reinertsen, and Lisa Curman, Deputy Head of the Cooperation Development Department at the Swedish Embassy in BiH, who gave short speeches. They expressed their enthusiasm for the results achieved by the school and wished us success in the future. Mostar Rock school celebrated its tenth birthday on Tuesday 21st of June and marked World Music Day with an unforgettable concert at the club K19 (OKC Abrašević), with a large audience and a great gig.
They held different festivals, summer schools, mobile schools and much more.
The second edition of the Open City Mostar festival brought 16 days of music, culture, art and education, from July 20 until August 4, 2022. They arrived at 7 locations, they cooperated with festivals, organizations and clubs to create new unforgettable days and nights. The European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the City of Mostar, and MoRS represented 40+ performers, workshops for children, local and regional artists and a free program for all. They organized Old Town Street Fest 2022. Traditionally entertained audience during Red Bull Cliff Diving event in Mostar, with eleven performers that played music in the streets of the Old Town on August 26 and 27 at 4 locations.
Mostar Rock School introduced innovations in the Summer School program! Summer Rock School 022 is designed around different group workshops, different from those students attend during the program year. The Summer Rock School was open to participants who wanted to spend the summer practicing and improving their musical skills with their lecturers. They held a concert presentation of the Summer Rock School 2022, at their club Klub 27.
Mostar Rock School successfully implemented the project "Mobile Rock School" in 2022. In the months of June and July, the Rock School realized the Mobile Rock School project. Their lecturers traveled to 4 cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Vitez, Banja Luka, Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje and Tomislavgrad – and held three-day session band workshops.
